Private shcools have long depended upon cheritable gifts to advance their institutions. Whereas public schools are supported by tax revenues, private schools rely instead upon income from tuition and voluntary charitable gifts. Tuition alone does not cover the cost of education, which includes specially selected and trained faculty, challenging and comprehensive curriculum designed specifically for children with learning differences, and an environment where our students can flourish.
New Horizons Academy is supported through the generous gifts of board members, alumnae, parents, past parents, friends, faculty and administration. Your gifts allow the school to continue to provide the thoughtful instruction and innovative programs that embody the educational experience at NHA. When you give to New Horizons Academy, you open doors of opportunity for every student. |

Below are a variety of ways you can support New Horizons Academy through your gifts of time, talent and treasure. For more information on how to make a gift of appreciated assets (i.e., stock, real estate. artwork, etc.), or to leave NHA in your estate plan, contact Kim Johnson, Development Director, at 876-1181.
Financial Contribution
The easiest and by far the most popular wat to make a gift to New Horizons Academy is by writing a check. Please make checks payable to New Horizons Academy and indicate on the check or with an accompanying note how you would like us to apply your gift. Then simply mail your check to the following address.

- Give Where It's Needed Most
Giving a gift where it is most needed is a great way to provide essential help to the children and families we serve. Your gift to our "Greatest Needs Fundd" provides us the flexibility to respond to the most processing needs facing our school and our students.
- Give to Your Area of Interest
Whether you want to provide scholarships for low-income students, or you want to support our efforts to develop a green building. we will ensusre that your gift goes to the program or area of your choice. Examples of how you can designate your donation include:

New Horizons Academy has needs beyond cash donations. By donating an item from our Wish List, you will help improve the education of the children we serve. Our current wish list includes:

Employer Matching Gifts
If you make a financial contribution to New Horizons Academy, you may be able to double your gift. Many employers offer matching gift programs that match their employee's charitable contributions or time spent volunteering for a charity. Check with your employer to see if your generous gift can be instantly doubled!
Commemorative Gifts
Whenever you want to congratulate, thank, or memorialize someone, your gift to New Horizons Academy honors somone special and supports our vital work. Choose any donation amount to give as a gift, and we will send a notification card noting that a gift (from you) was made to NHA in the recipient's honor.
Volunteer
Throughout the year New Horizons Academy has various fundraisers, student events, and community programs that require the assistance of dedicated volunteers. Young and old, skilled and unskilled, individuals and groups—everyone with the desire to volunteer their time is welcomed.
